Reward of 2 Million Afghanis to Commend the Afghan National Futsal Team in Mashhad
The Afghanistan national futsal team, mainly composed of athletes from the third generation of Afghan immigrants and refugees residing in Iran, ascended to the Futsal World Cup 2024 by defeating Kyrgy
According to Mohajir Times, an event titled “Hello World Cup” was held in Mashhad, Iran, in the presence of members of the Afghan national futsal team. The Hello World Cup event aimed to commend the members of the Afghanistan national futsal team who recently qualified for the World Cup, with the presence of the Afghanistan consulate, traders, and investors from Afghanistan, Iran, and Tajikistan from various segments of the immigrant community residing in Khorasan Razavi province in Mashhad.
On Thursday night, May 9, 2024, in an event titled "Hello World Cup" held at the conference hall of the five-star Novin Plus Hotel in Mashhad, players and technical staff of the Afghanistan national futsal team were honored and praised. In this ceremony, Mr. Ahmad Shah Faqiri, an Afghan trader, paid two million Afghanis (equivalent to 28,000 US dollars) as a cash reward to the members of the Afghan national futsal team.
Mr. Faqiri is one of the Afghan traders who donated two million Afghanis to the Afghanistan national futsal team. He said: "The rise of this team has revived hope in the hearts of the people of Afghanistan, people who have experienced war, insecurity, and displacement for more than four decades, and this honorable ascent has brought joy, happiness, and pride to millions of Afghanistani refugees and the people of Afghanistan."
The Afghanistan national futsal team, mainly composed of athletes from the third generation of Afghan immigrants and refugees residing in Iran, ascended to the Futsal World Cup 2024 by defeating Kyrgyzstan on April 28. Also, in this ceremony, Majid Mortazaei, the head coach of the national futsal team, and Nasir Sedaqat, the executive manager of this team who made history for Afghanistan futsal, were presented with traditional Afghan clothing. The Afghanistan national team players also presented a signed jersey of the Afghanistan national futsal team as a gift to the organizers of this event.
