According to Mohajir Times, Mohammad Mudassir Tipu, Pakistan’s ambassador in Tehran, has informed about the killing of nine citizens of this country in the Saravan district of Sistan and Baluchistan Province of Iran. The Pakistani ambassador has described their murder as “horrific” by publishing a post on his X page this Saturday evening, January 27, 2024.
He added that the Pakistani embassy fully supports the families of the victims, and the consul general of this country in Zahedan has already gone to the place of the incident and the hospital where the injured are admitted. The Pakistani ambassador has not released more details about the incident and the number of wounded. He has demanded full cooperation from Iran to deal with this incident.
Iran’s Mehr news agency also reported the death of nine “non-Iranians” in the Sirkan area of the Saravan district of Sistan and Baluchistan but did not mention the exact identity of the victims. According to Atlas news agency, these people were killed this morning by “unknown armed men” in a house in “Sirkan.”
“Hal Vash” news agency, which reflects the events of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan, wrote that this incident occurred at around 2:00 am today in a “garage” in Sirkan. According to this media report, nine Pakistani citizens were killed, and three others were injured in this incident. According to the report of this media, the injured in this incident are hospitalized in “Razi” hospital in Saravan, and one of them is in critical condition.
This media, quoting its sources, said that the victims of this incident had been working in Saravan since 15 years ago, working in car polishing and electrical work, and they lived in a room on the premises of a repair shop. So far, no person or group has taken responsibility for this event. This incident happened while recently the relations between Iran and Pakistan had become tense due to mutual airstrikes on each other’s territory against the “Jaish al-Adl” group and armed Baloch people known as “Sarmchar.” After about ten days of tension, the two countries’ ambassadors returned to their workplaces in Islamabad and Tehran yesterday.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned this morning’s armed attack in the suburbs of Saravan city, which, according to initial reports and is under investigation, led to the death of 9 Pakistani citizens and the wounding of 3 people, and expressed his sympathy with the Pakistan government and the families of the victims. Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson for Iran pointed out that the investigation in this field is ongoing by the country’s relevant authorities and added that Iran and Pakistan will not allow the enemies to harm the brotherly relations of the two countries.
