Fariba Haidari, a Hazara Woman from Afghanistan, Won the Best Short Film Award

According to Mohajir Times, quoted by the Farsi-Dari section of Radio Sweden, the prize for the best documentary short film in Sweden was awarded to a female director of Hazara from Afghanistan. The Golden Beetle Award is Sweden's most prestigious film award, which is held every year in Stockholm, the capital of this country.
Last night, the 59th annual Golden Beetle movie ceremony called “Guldbagge Awards” was held in Stockholm, Sweden. The Swedish Film Institute holds this magnificent event every year, and the best films and actors of the past year in Sweden are awarded.
Iranian and Afghanistan filmmakers were candidates for this important award in seven categories this year. They were able to take three awards home with them. Last night, Fariba Haidari, a female director from Afghanistan, was awarded the best short film for the “Lila Film.” The film is about a transgender person and their problems in the Afghanistan communities.
Fariba Haidari said in an interview with Radio Sweden: “I was thrilled, and it was unbelievable for me; I was shocked when I arrived.” This ceremony is the most prestigious in Swedish cinema. Fariba hopes this award will bring hope to the women of her country, Afghanistan.
Several Iranian filmmakers, including Ms. Fariba Haidari from Afghanistan, were also selected for this award. At the same time, Zahra Gawani, a teacher of Swedish-Afghanistani, won the best teacher award in Sweden in 2023.
