Evacuation Deadline for Afghan Refugees Residing in District 8, By the Shiraz Foreign Nationals Affairs Department

According to Mohajir Times; quoting elected representatives of Afghanistan religious institutions and the Alien and Foreign Immigrants Affairs Office of Fars Province, regarding the prohibition of residence, employment, and movement of Afghan migrants in District 8 of Shiraz Municipality, on Monday, December 25, 2023, during a meeting, elected representatives of religious institutions at the office of the Alien and Foreign Immigrants Affairs of Fars Province discussed with the director-general of this office, Dr. Ghorbani.
In this meeting, Dr. Ghorbani reiterated, "All migrants in the mentioned area should evacuate as soon as possible. Under no circumstances should there be any more movement in this region. It is likely that in the coming days, police and female soldiers will be deployed, and Afghan women who pass through this area will be arrested and transferred to camps."
In this session, Haddavian, the head of the Association of Foreigners' Guarantor and Organizational Offices of Fars Province, was also present. Several issues related to the performance of some guarantor offices regarding services to migrants were raised by elected representatives of religious institutions.
Regarding the issues raised by elected representatives of religious institutions, Haddavian stated, "The issues and problems raised will be investigated as soon as possible, and these problems will be addressed." Therefore, at the final of session, Dr. Ghorbani, the director-general of the Alien and Foreign Immigrants Affairs Office of Shiraz Province, emphasized that foreign nationals only can approach the shrine of Shahcharagh on Fridays.
This decision is made while the pilgrimage to Shahcharagh in the city of Shiraz, Iran, was recently subjected to a terrorist attack. In this attack, several men and children were killed. Iranian security authorities have detained several suspects in this regard, and in some reports, the identity of the suspects has been attributed to foreign nationals. #mohajirtimes
