According to the Mohajir Times, citing the Hayat News Agency, the head of the Migration Organization emphasized that the management of the immigrant population is underway, stating, “More than one million unauthorized migrants have been deported from the country.”
In an interview with the Hayat News Agency at the press exhibition, Abdollah Mobini, the head of Iran's National Migration Organization, highlighted that the migrant population is being managed. He mentioned that the adopted policies and presented plans are under review. He continued, stating that the plan to deport unauthorized immigrants is also being implemented, and more than one million individuals have been deported from the country in the current year.
Referring to the goal of making immigration to the country more purposeful, the head of Iran's National Migration Organization stated, “The plan to reform the routes and make them purposeful is on the agenda.” Additionally, diplomacy with Afghanistan and Pakistan is ongoing, as these countries are receptive to immigrants. Mobini also mentioned measures taken to address individuals entering the country illegally, intending to organize the situation of immigrants systematically and orderly.
Meanwhile, recent developments within the Iranian National Migration Organization indicate intensified forced expulsions of Afghanistan migrants and refugees from Iran. Some migration activists express concerns, stating, “Although the establishment of the National Migration Organization was initially seen as a ray of hope for migrants, it has so far brought no facilities for migrants. Instead, laws have become stricter and more challenging for migrants.”
